Closer – DVD Review
Mar 29, 2005“Closer” was released on DVD today! I have much anticipated this release and was very happy when Drew came home with it for me. Unfortunately, there aren’t any extras! No deleted scenes, no commentary, nothin’. There is a music video for Damien Rice’s “The Blower’s Daughter” which features clips of the movie, but I was definitely wanting more. Still, I think the movie is incredible, and hopefully someday they will release a special edition or something with some extra features. The link above has a review of the DVD as well as the movie for those interested.

That is bizarre. They usually reserve the no extras treatment for “B movies” from the 70′s. Closer was one of the best movies released last year. You might think the buzz from the acting nominations would warrant a few extras. Maybe the film didn’t make enough at the box office.
Either way, someone has failed to grasp one of the major reasons people purchase movies on DVD.
