What a boring Halloween! It rained hard here in Houston this afternoon, and a bit this evening, so very few Trick-or-Treaters were out in our neighborhood. We had a total of 5 groups come by bringing the total to 19 kids. There is plenty of extra candy for us to enjoy!
Drew and I had planned to spend the evening playing our favorite game- World of Warcraft. We’re now into hour 7 of downtime and there seems no hope of the servers coming up this hour either. According to the Blizzard forums, it seems every realm is down, so it has been a boring night for the other nerds like us who had planned to play all night.
Ho hum. :(

iTunes On Treo 600 and 650
The latest version of Mass Storage Synchronizer — the add-on from Tea Vui Huang that adapts iTunes for Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung phones — is now compatible with Palm One’s Treo 600 and 650 smartphones. You’ll need RealPlayer for Palm or Pocket Tunes to hear the music. It will be interesting to see how the 650 handles music storage given its non-volatile memory problems.

From Mac OS X Hints- Use Quicktime Player to Export Movies to iTunes Video by Ari Bader-Natal
Apple’s tutorial Creating Video for iPod requires Quicktime 7 Pro, but the free Quicktime Player is equally capable.
I’ve posted both an AppleScript (Export front movie to iTunes.scpt) and an automator workflow (Export selected movies to iTunes.workflow) to get you started.
The Automator workflow enables you right-click on movie files in the Finder to do this, and the AppleScript lets you export the frontmost movie via the scripts menu. One interesting note is that these both work for any media files that Quicktime Player can open.

Popcasts (BETA) >> About Popcasts
Popcasts is an aggregator of ‘most popular podcasts’ (e.g. top 10 podcast).
It lets you see at a glance, on just one page, what is popular in dozens of different podcast directories, without you having to constantly check the individual directories for the latest ranking results.
It scans and synchronises with pre-registered podcast directories or ranking sites every hour and generates RSS feeds for each top 10 podcast. The sites registered to Popcasts include: Apple iTunes Podcasting, Odeo, Podnova, podfeed, iPodderX, PodcastPickle, Podcasting NEWS and Podcast Alley.
