Apple – Trailers – A Scanner Darkly – Trailer

”A Scanner Darkly” is set in suburban Orange County, California in a future where America has lost the war on drugs. When one reluctant undercover cop is ordered to start spying on his friends, he is launched on a paranoid journey into the absurd, where identities and loyalties are impossible to decode.

The trailer can be seen at the link above. I don’t know how they did the film effect, but it looks very intriguing!

10 Semi-Obscure Mac Programs You Shouldn’t Be Without
I keep seeing lists of 10 must have Mac programs, but the lists is they are well known can’t-live-without programs like Launchbar and Windowshade already installed on Machead machines. Here are some slightly more obscure programs I use every day:

Raul has a great list of programs to help any Mac user!

Sonny and Emily Made Love … Finally!

Feb 20, 2006

Whew. It’s been several hours since General Hospital ended on ABC and my pulse is still racing!

Those of us that read spoilers have been looking forward to this day for over 3 weeks. It was worth it. It was perfect. It was the most sensuous, tender, slow, and loving experience that I have seen in years between a couple making love on television- especially on General Hospital.

The Last Ricky Gervais Podcast

Feb 19, 2006

Ricky Gervais and his team were today awarded the Guinness World Record for the most downloaded podcast, gaining an average of 261,670 downloads per episode of ‘The Ricky Gervais Show’ during its first month.

Tomorrow will be the last Ricky Gervais Podcast. This will be number 12 in the series of 12, but hopefully there will be more soon. The Ricky Gervais Podcast is by far my favorite podcast and the only one I listen to religiously. There is nothing better than waking up on a Monday morning, firing up iTunes, and having the podcast ready for my enjoyment.

If you’ve never heard the podcast, I strongly suggest you download an episode and see what it’s like. It features three English gentlemen- Ricky Gervais, Steven Merchant, and Karl Pilkington, and the threesome discuss every topic under the sun. I have grown to love their “monkey news” segment, as well as the excerpts from Karl’s journal.

You can find out more about the podcast on Ricky’s website or head to Guardian Unlimited’s website to download archived episodes. Click here to add the podcast to iTunes.

We waited 3 weeks, what’s another 3 days?!

Feb 17, 2006

Today, February 17th, was supposed to be the “big day” for Sonny & Emily on General Hospital.

It was certainly a terrific day, but it seems we will have to wait until Monday for the “juicy” stuff- no pun intended. The folks in the editing room were kind enough to provide a very intoxicating preview for next week at the end of Thursday’s show, so they whetted our appetites at least. The build up to the big day has been very exciting, especially since Emily seems to know exactly what she wants and intends on getting it, but this couple has made me dread the weekends and look forward to Mondays! They’ve had several cliffhangers like this in the past, and it makes the weekend seem way too long.

Unfortunately, it can be extremely frustrating on a Friday when the cliffhanger scene is what you’ve been waiting so long for! Next thing you know, you see the fade to black and the “stay tuned for scenes from the next General Hospital.” AHH! As a very impatient person, this type of thing drives me crazy. Just ask Drew, he’s had to put up with my yelling and stomping around the room for several minutes :)

Save Gtalk chats in Gmail?

Feb 7, 2006

I just logged into my Gmail account and noticed a link of the left that said Chats. I clicked on it and it said:

Get Google Talk so you can chat and make free voice calls with friends. Your Google Talk chat history can be automatically saved right here in your Gmail account. Also coming soon: chat in Gmail!

But wait, there’s more…

  • Add contacts and invite your friends to chat from Quick Contacts
  • See when your friends are online
  • Set your status to busy, sleepy, angry or whatever. Even sneezy.
  • Get Google Talk to make free voice calls too. It’s completely synchronized with Quick Contacts
  • Go off the record when you’re chatting so nothing gets saved to anyone’s Gmail account

This all seems very exciting, but I only converse with on person on Gtalk, so it seems rather pointless for my needs. Perhaps that will change soon, though.

General Hospital – Sonny and Emily Screencaptures

Feb 6, 2006

For those that have come by looking for my screencaps of Sonny & Emily from General Hospital, what I have so far is here: http://sem.pibby.com

I decided to just toss up a gallery and then I can upload the pics via FTP and import them. Bookmark http://sem.pibby.com if you want to check in for updates.

Hopefully this goes without saying, but I will say it anyway. I would appreciate a link back if you plan on posting the pics anywhere else. If you use them for avatars or banners, I would love to see what you come up it! I would prefer not to tag the pictures, but I may in the future if they are just thrown around as I’ve been seeing now. I get enough of that with my Kate Beckinsale videos!

Is it the 17th yet?!

We Love Seeing Kate Beckinsale

Feb 2, 2006

I’ve been a Kate Beckinsale fan for many many years now, and I love when a new movie of hers comes out because she will always accumulate new fans.

Promotion for Underworld: Evolution got into full swing towards the beginning of January with movie specials, interviews shown on some channels, TV and talk show appearances, etc. I have managed to gather about 95% of them and put them on my Kate Beckinsale Media Site.

Now Kate is obviously a beautiful and talented woman who is extremely funny when given the chance. Those of us that have been fans of hers for so long already know this, hence our enthusiasm to spread our enjoyment of the English beauty. As a Moderator on the largest Kate Beckinsale fan forum, I kept members up to date on what I would be recording, when I would be uploading it to the site, and what the links were. From Kate’s appearance on The View, Letterman, Leno, and Conan, to the BET Movie Special, appearance on TRL, and even her presentation at the Golden Globes, there is plenty for fans and future fans to enjoy.

The purpose of posting this was to point out the huge jump in traffic to the KB media site.

December 2005
Total 4153

January 2006
Total 32403

In case you are poor in math, or lazy, that is a 780% increase! I’m so proud! Underworld: Evolution was #1 at the box office its first weekend, so I like to pretend that I had a small hand in getting two or three people excited about seeing it.
